Just like that, Canada’s four-day world junior selection camp, hosted this year in Oakville, Ont., is over. Two days of practices, two days of games and nine Thursday evening cuts at the nearby Courtyard Burlington hotel.
Released from the team were forwards Cole Perfetti, Alex Newhook, Dylan Holloway, Peyton Krebs and Connor Zary; defencemen Braden Schneider, Thomas Harley and Peter Diliberatore; and goalie Hunter Jones.
Barring the potential arrival of their final two current NHL options (Islanders prospect Noah Dobson seems possible, while Blackhawks centre Kirby Dach has gone from unlikely to maybe), Team Canada has largely taken shape, one cut shy of the required 23-man roster.
