Air Canada is launching a summer seasonal service between Boston and Calgary in 2020.
The daily route, the only nonstop service available between the cities, according to the Air Canada announcement on Tuesday, will depart from Logan International Airport at 6:30 a.m. between June 22 and Sept. 7 (the flight from Calgary leaves at 4:15 p.m.). Travelers will fly on an Airbus A319.
“This flight is meant to connect Western Canada to Boston through Calgary, allowing for non-stop travel to Boston where visitors can enjoy the charms of Massachusetts’ capital and largest city, while visitors to Calgary can take in the city’s culture and make a quick trip to the Rocky Mountains,” said Mark Galardo, vice president of network planning at Air Canada, in a press release.
The seasonal route between Boston and Calgary will complement Air Canada’s existing service to Boston from Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, and Halifax.
“This direct flight to Boston will connect Calgary to a vibrant city full of history and diversity,” said Bob Sartor, president and CEO of the Calgary Airport Authority, in a press release. “Our guests have longed asked for more direct flights to United States’ east coast and we thank Air Canada for adding this exciting route to the gateway of New England.”
The airline is also adding seasonal service between Montreal and Nashville.
Air Canada is Canada’s largest domestic and international airline, serving 53 airports in the U.S. and a total of 220 airports on six continents.
