Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were reportedly turned away at a restaurant in Canada during their stay over Christmas.
Ahead of the festive period, the Palace released a statement to explain that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex would be spending Christmas with their son Archie in Canada amid their six-week break from public duties.
‘They are enjoying sharing the warmth of the Canadian people and the beauty of the landscape with their young son,’ the Palace explained.
Despite receiving greetings on Twitter from Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and well wishes from fans after the pair shared a Christmas card photo of their family-of-three, it sounds like they might have encountered a slight spanner to their holiday plans during their trip away.

According to Bev Koffel, whose husband is the owner of the waterfront restaurant Deep Cove Chalet in Sidney, British Colombia, the eatery was unable to accommodate the royals.
Koffel told the Vancouver Sun that the Sussexes’ security team visited the restaurant to enquire about the couple eating there.
‘"They said, ‘How did you figure out who we were?’ And I said, ‘It wasn’t too hard,'" she explained.
While Koffel revealed that she would be more than happy to have the couple at her family’s restaurant, it was her husband that put a stop to it as a result of not having the room.

‘You know what Pierre’s like. We’ll see what happens,’ she added, referring to the possibility of having the couple to dine at their restaurant in future.
‘Let them have their peace and quiet. For us to be so lucky to have them in the area, how lucky is that?” said Koffel. ‘I wish them all the privacy they can possibly get. They deserve it.’
Earlier this week, Meghan’s friend and photographer Janina Gavankar spoke out against the British media after after a photoshopping scandal was wrongly reported by certain tabloid publications, including the Mail Online.
'Proud to have taken the Christmas photo for one of my best friends and her family,' Gavankar wrote on Instagram.
'Here’s the original that was sent out (cropped to fit IG)....and to The Mail, I see your campaign against my friend continues. Nice photoshop of my non-photoshopped image. Now may we all get back to the spirit of Christmas and not the spirit of maliciousness.’
The photographer’s comments made reference to an article written by The Daily Mail in which the publication questioned whether or not the Duchess of Sussex’s face was 'photoshopped onto Christmas e-card' which had 'experts' claiming her ‘face appears weirdly in focus in Archie snap while Prince Harry is blurry’.
In fact, it was a fan of Markle that had altered the image. The account @SussexDiary took to Twitter to explain the confusion, stating that she had made the edit with an app called Remini in an attempt to fix a blurriness that she had perceived in the original.
The account has since shut down.
