Whereas most people will be spending the holidays sleeping in their childhood twin beds and hoping their parents won’t blast cleaning music at 8 a.m. on a Saturday, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are putting us all to shame. The royal reps previously announced that the two parents, Archie Harrison, and Doria Ragland wouldn’t go to the queen’s Sandringham estate for the annual Christmas walk, opting to retreat from the spotlight and head to Canada. Now, the Daily Mail and The Mirror have a bunch of deets about the $13 to $14 million home where they’ve been staying and it’ll make you insanely jealous.
Turns out, Meghan, Harry, Doria, and Archie have been living it up in a mansion on Vancouver Island right off the Pacific coast of Canada. Not to throw salt in the wound, but their temporary vacation home is so fancy, it has two beaches. Here are all the stats:
- It is on a peninsula and has views for days.
- It has eight bedrooms and ten bathrooms split between the main house and guest house.
- It’s gated.
- It has a two-story living room.
- It has a dining room.
- It has a pizza oven.
- It has a game room.
- It has a wine-tasting room. (I just drink from the bottle while lying in bed, but go, queen!)
It’s not totally clear who this property belongs to, but according to the Daily Mail, “It is ultimately the property of a country club, and the purchaser bought shares in the country club to become its owner.” The Mirror claimed it belongs to a Russian businessman, but nobody really knows.
In case you couldn’t tell by all the features of the home, it’s great. A local deli owner said just as much when talking to The Mirror. They said, “It’s an incredible property and one of the most prestigious around here. I wasn’t surprised when I found out Harry and Meghan are staying there. It’s certainly fit for royalty.”
Unfortunately for their neighbors, the family is only there until Friday, which is when I will respectfully submit my application to live in just one of the likely 12 huge broom closets.
